The High Point: Facebook In 2004, I joined Facebook and my behavior changed drastically. I needed to differentiate Digg from social media because they actually are part of a distinctive community (and as you know, I’m very passionate about Digg so it really did deserve its own category). See, I’m one of those Facebook users who have been on the service since February 2004, which is quite a long time considering Facebook was open to about three schools at the time that I signed up. So many people use LinkedIn this way; I’d be surprised if less than 90% of LinkedIn’s community didn’t.

As a college graduate and early adopter of Facebook (in 2004), I could definitely see that. Why did I join in 2004? One was in college in 2004, while the other was in high school.
