As you may well know, I started blogging back in 2002. When I started Digital Photography School I created avatars to represent the different types of people I’d be writing for. Having said those things, I want to talk about these nine things that have helped me to accelerate the growth of my blogs over the years, things I wish I knew back in 2002 when I started out and I hope that that will help you in your journey as well. I started blogging in 2002. Gradually over time, I began to deepen my avatars.

For me, it all started in 2002 with an email from a friend. Okay, It was 2002 and I got this email and it had four words in it and a link. I transitioned my photography blog into Digital Photography School in 2007 and this is my main blog today. Some people would call them personas or avatars today. They have an avatar.

Started in 2002, and only took that long to blog because it took me a long time to find a designer who could create it to have the same design as my website. Neville Hobson - Neville Hobson.com @jangles Began blogging 2002(UK) . When it became possible to switch to a blog, I didn''t hesitate for a second.

Add an avatar and a bio at the minimum. And well, they say that social media is the new link exchange, so instead of asking for an old-fashioned link (which might have worked in 2002), consider using a more viable strategy for this modern time period. There is no reason to make a personal request. Not humanizing your profile.
