On a particular forum I am active on (yes, I still use them!), Sadly, this person’s post was pulled by the strict moderators on that forum; the post was purely self-promotional and nothing but. If you’re only on the forum to tell other people to visit your website or to use your product, you won’t go far.

Kirtsy is a social news network; there are also forums and even Yahoo! Your target market might be hiding in a niche forum somewhere out there. Just because you have access to it doesn’t mean he wants your newsletter. A relationship is not a newsletter opt-in , and quite frankly, it’s spammy. Answers Yahoo!

Promoting every affiliate offer in your midst and pimping your friends — while losing sight of why your newsletter subscribers (or blog readers!)

My top three forums include Cre8asite Forums , Webmaster World (which is mostly free but also has subscription-only discussions), and High Rankings Forum. In the last few years, he moved his forever-changing content online in the format of members-only training guides and forums. It is frustrating to no end.

StumbleUpon Sending more than one story to your network daily. Submitting a story from another social news site to StumbleUpon for more visibility and eyeballs. This infraction goes for all social sites that accept submissions, and not just StumbleUpon.) The key to success is moderation. Excess converts to spam.
