Anyone who discusses social media with me usually has to sit through one (or more) of my diatribes about how ridiculous Klout is, why it doesn’t measure social media influence, and why relying on the score is one of the most annoying noob habits of social media. If you ask me what my Klout score is …I’ll likely vomit. They use numbers like “friends”, “followers” and…ewww…”Klout” to determine whether they are doing social right. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. So, should you ignore the numbers?

And I sure as heck don’t care what your Klout score is. Do you think that announcing it on your Twitter feed is going to shame me back into following you again? I don’t care about how many tweets you have. I don’t care how long you have been on Twitter. I don’t care whether you #followback. Gonna cry about it?
