Certainly, it’s not a comprehensive influence formula like Klout , or other Twitter-influence arbiters ( interesting study this week from Sysomos ), but it’s easy to calculate, and I think it makes sense. So, I’ve started to look at followers per tweet as a metric that focuses on the efficiency of time spent.

To be fair, I’ve only included those I’ve actually used (Radian6, Sysomos, Spiral 16) or tested (Meltwater, SM2). I looked at Meltwater Buzz a couple of months back and thought it offered a better platform than Radian6 (which is a good option in itself and often used as the industry example). Historical data seemed more robust as well.

Twitter’s role as a conduit for the Zeitgeist is unrivaled, and it has almost single-handedly ushered in the era of real-time search, and social CRM. Since then,023% of all Tweets include location data, according to Sysomos. dell is one example. Not an overwhelming participation rate. I love Twitter.
