Sidebars were crammed full of stuff that would take you away from the site (blogrolls, sponsor ads, Google Ads) along with things that really didn’t need to be there (remember tag clouds?). The image, despite being subtle, neatly supports the word ‘community’ in the heading. We then experienced the ‘magazine site’ evolution.

Add items that make it easy for people to find older content on your blog: search, tag cloud, recent posts, popular posts, etc. All blogs should have one, and if you don’t want to put it in a sidebar, you can create a separate page devoted to your blogroll. Spend some quality time thinking about your sidebars.

In other words, if I find an interesting content, I can decide whether its important for the company as a whole, for a given community inside the company (CoI, CoP, project team etc.) So as a user, I will only be given access to the bookmarks and tag clouds I am allowed to see, i.e. those from the communities I belong to.

The community of del.icio.us Bundle Your Tags. Does your tag cloud look like a huge, disorganized mess. Bundle those tags into related categories for easy access. To organize your tags into bundles, click on the “Settings&# link in the top right-hand corner. tags in a tag cloud.

Configurable Tag Cloud – This plugin lists the top post tags. In general, if you paid for something and it’s not working accordingly, make sure to try their site and contact them directly if there isn’t a community forum. Some premium plugins also have great support forums.
