Facebook has announced a new version of its Comments Box plugin – its social plugin that enables Facebook-connected commenting on a website. Facebook’s Comment Box plugin. Comments from people in your social graph, highly-liked comments and active threads rise to the top; those flagged as spam fall to the bottom.

Several people seemed to take that to mean that I think all criticism is bad, or that we should avoid commenting on other posts. For that to be the case, it needs to be informed and it needs to be constructive.&#. One is constructive; one is unhelpful. What a dumb move – who in their right minds would do that?

A quick thought (or ten) for anyone who is thinking about armchair-quarterbacking someone else’s PR or social media execution without anything constructive to add… When you criticize things from the outside, you: Don't be this guy. For that to be the case, it needs to be informed and it needs to be constructive.
