Subscriber Stats I really don’t know if I should continue reporting on Feedburner as the count is just far too erratic. But with Feedburner, who knows. If you’re reading this in a feed reader or inbox, thanks for subscribing! Yup you are right about the feedburner stats. There has to be a better way!

Feedburner If you’re a blogger and you’re not using Feedburner, I first of all want to know where you’ve been, and secondly need to say that you have been missing out. Feedburner basically provides the little yellow “chicklet&# that you see on the top right hand corner of this blog.

I’m actually writing this sentence (not the post) on March 11th 2010 sitting on a feed count of 4,717 subscribers (I’ll explain this later). My feed jumped from 8,500 to over 11,500 according to Feedburner. My other activities – buying and building niche websites – simply takes up far too much of my time.

I ran a DJ blog which I later let die due to other interests and I even ran ViperChill for a year (a long time ago) without getting one single comment or feed subscriber. Yet, if I notice a “11,652 subscribers&# feedburner chicklet before clicking the close tab, it’s far more likely to make me stick around.

Subscriber Stats Feedburner is so erratic that I just can’t take it that seriously anymore. July 1st : 7,543 July 31st : 8,174 Change : +631 For writing so little, and having a lot less traffic than most months, July didn’t turn out too badly at all in terms of feed growth. The rest of this year is going to rock!

That may be in the form of subscribing to the RSS feed and getting future updates or clicking on a post in the right sidebar. My goal is not to get you to buy something, click on an affiliate link or even share my posts (although that is a nice benefit). Finally, feedburner fluctuates like crazy on a daily basis. Congrats Diggy!
