Use A Bookmarklet. A bookmarklet is a tiny program (written in javascript) that fits inside a bookmark. The Official Google Reader Blog has a couple of really nice bookmarklets you can use while you web-surf. The 2nd bookmarklet can also be found on the Notes link within Google Reader. I scan 275 RSS feeds in Google Reader and I use dozens of bookmarklets and shortcuts to help me manage it all. We are now developing an open source "business application platform" (think salesforce.com). Our first application is working tightly integrated with GOOGLE APPS. Using Gmail as a Massive Database. never send them.

It can take almost any blog and feed it into a Twitter account, so you see new items when you’re on Twitter or using any of the Twitter applications. It’s available as a Javascript snippet, a bookmarklet or a WordPress plugin. Twitterfeed : Performs a useful service. Webware has a good explanation of ways to use Twitterfeed.

Not only is a minimalist desktop fast to load and nice to look at, it also keeps you in a simple frame of mind for when you are working on other applications. If you can do the same with some of your applications, then I recommend that you do. Write Room is a great application and worth every penny in my eyes. Keep it simple.

I run a Mac application called Automater which automatically copies files from a certain folder onto my iDisk at 1pm everyday. it has a desktop application too. thanks for this huge and useful list Reply Vincent says: March 3, 2010 at 6:03 pm Hi Glen, I love some of the applications listed here.
