As a blogger in a competitive and increasingly saturated market, it can be hard to continually create magnetic content, build a community and increase your skill level. There’s something you should know: AdSense isn’t the only option for earning advertising revenue out there. Minimum Monthly Impressions: 50,000.

AdSense – 8%. They were costing me money, and not just from me buying domain names and hosting. I discovered AdSense (Google’s advertising network), and started putting their ads on my blog. I learned how tweaking things in AdSense (the number of ads, their sizes, their positions, etc.) sponsorship – 6%.

It also began to cost me money to run for hosting, domain, design etc. I began to dabble in monetizing with the hope of simply covering my costs. My first experiments were with Google AdSense and the Amazon Affiliate Program. Over the coming months I continued to experiment with AdSense and Amazon.

The reason I began experimenting with monetizing was that my blogs were costing me money and taking up a lot of time. Google AdSense – Text based ads that I started putting on my blog. Optimized AdSense – more ads, change size, change position and colors. Added other advertising networks.

That was a really important moment for me where I added Chitika on top of my AdSense earnings. Advertising networks, that was my first one. Google AdSense, Chitika.
