This is quite the opposite of a traditional “SEO Contest&#. So, what will you get when you submit your SEO Horror Story?

Even back when Darren and I started discussing a potential book, blogging wasn’t new, and we had already seen the community undergo several changes. A great many are built as a one-off project and are then only lightly maintained, sometimes through “programmatic SEO” or other website automation techniques.

Check out the web hosting services topic on any forum or community discussion board, and you'll see both glowing endorsements and damning negativity for every hosting company out there - no matter how good they are. Keep in mind that an email with your domain name looks more professional.

Track things like audience/community sentiment (positive/negative) if you want to map effort to results. Buy an easy-to-remember, easy-to-spell, content-appropriate domain name if you can. Use social networks respectfully to share the best of your content, in a community-appropriate setting. Not everyone needs a blog.
