It’s doubtful that the comments have any real benefit to the commenter as most blogs have nofollow links in comments which kill any search ranking benefits and nobody in their right mind will click their links as they’re so obviously spammy. In fact this advice is Day 20 in our 31 Days to Build a Better Blog workbook.

I started blogging in 2002, 2004 for ProBlogger, of course things have changed. Other areas of inconsistency, capitalization of words in headlines, for example, and I see this all the time. For example, when I write ProBlogger, I capitalize P and B, ProBlogger. For example, on Digital Photography School we have a lot of writers.

Considering the above example, I pose a question on Facebook etiquette: Is it appropriate to let these requests sit in pending mode or to reject the friends outright?? Add an avatar and a bio at the minimum. I don’t get when people sign comments for example, since they comment itself already comes with the name and link above it.
