When there’s over 20 links to sites like Gmail, Facebook, Digg and Twitter, it’s hard not to be distracted. The Twitter integration in Netvibes actually includes the very same functionality of Tweetdeck. I do something similar to you, I use Tweetdeck and Google Reader alongside with Google Alerts.

I personally know that I check Tweetdeck, Facebook, and my email inbox far more often than necessary. If there’s a big yellow Tweetdeck button in my Dock or some links shared by my friends on Facebook, I’m going to want to click around. If you truly find a better way of doing things that helps you more, then stick to that.

and right now my response is simply “I share links to it on Facebook and Twitter.&# Twitter is consistently a top 10 referring source of traffic to this website. If I have 100 targeted followers on Twitter then simple logic would suggest that having 1,000 targeted followers would help me to get more retweets.
