It is already an enormous challenge in the real world. For many parents, the prospect of helping their children stay safe in the virtual world is even more overwhelming. While I did not request that my mother authorize access to her accounts, SocialShield did tell me that she has (wait for it…) a MySpace account.

In case it isn’t obvious, Facebook wall posts are completely public to all your friends (unless you tweak your privacy settings). It’s important to understand the communities you contribute to and to understand the rules of the sites that you target. FriendFeed is a service but it’s also a community.

And they mean it, too, saying "At TCBN we respect your privacy. Since then, the students have formed their own vibrant community on Twitter. Because that simply isnt true and if you were more plugged in culturally you would know MySpace is still the place for kids. No jumping through hoops to keep your information private.
