The conversation primarily revolved around whether the “always on” nature of sites like Twitter require that you tweet 24 hours a day, since your followers aren’t necessarily in the same time zone. I also am not a fan of posting FourSquare updates, quotes from famous people, or trivial content like ASCII twitter art.

Twitter Tweetdeck I use Tweetdeck for serious twitter sessions. I do this only occasionally, however, as my friends/followers on each site don’t have much overlap. It takes up a lot less screen real estate that Tweetdeck, and I always use Tweetie when conducting my live, Twitter 20 interviews. I implement bit.ly

Updating Facebook from third parties like Tweetdeck? Twitter success requires an understanding of the unique rhythms and cadences of the community, and a give first, get later mentality that is a bit counterintuitive at first. The site is exceptionally poor at welcoming and training new users , which may result in its high churn rate.
