All it really took was a redirect 301 line in a.htaccess file, but since Hostgator had installed WordPress on that new domain and not understood his instructions, there was a lot of unnecessary stuff going on in that file. After all, this is WordPress’ own built-in feature so we expected it would be working flawlessly.
