I also ran a small experiment that meant I paid people with over 500 Facebook friends $10 to post a link to my RSS feed. What was your success rate when it comes to convincing people to post a link to your RSS feed? I use a Twitter landing page and I have increased my RSS by using it. That means you’re awesome.

Links can do this regardless of whether or not they contain the “nofollow” attribute, contain redirects, come from a site with a high PageRank , and so on. One advantage blogs have over other websites is the ability to submit to tons of various blog and RSS aggregators. This should be your immediate goal as well.
