If you are running a hosted WordPress blog you should definitely check these out. The WP Greet Box plugin uses Ajax to automatically identify how your users found your blog articles, and displays the appropriate referrer message at the top welcoming them and suggesting they share accordingly. Those are my favs. What are yours?

Right now there doesn’t seem to be a way to use just someone’s first name, unless you get involved in some Ajax trickery which makes your Fan page act like an app. Another change I implemented was to take advantage of the engaged state that users are in. or “Welcome&# here. Each template comes with its own code.

I recently took a leap of faith, establishing a self-hosted blog using wordpress.org. Suddenly, I’m inundated with new terminology: ftp, html coding, ajax, api keys and plugins. has patiently answered questions, although he may rue the day I signed up for his blog hosting service. It has been overwhelming.

There’s no obvious search function and you have to wait for some Ajax-spinning wheel every time you click on a category. Slickdeals is a little better as there’s community engagement happening, but it’s a very ugly and cluttered website that seems to need a spring clean. Who really deserves to rank in this industry?
