I am ambiverted, however online I am extremely sociable – having been in online marketing since ’97 and loving connecting with people online a whole lot more than offline. Facebook’s intended purpose when created by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004 was for connecting college students with each other in their respective universities.

Based on my findings, Problogger started in 2004, Copyblogger started in 2006, Daily Blog Tips started in 2006, Steve Pavlina’s Blog started in 2004, and Entrepreneur’s Journey started in 2004. All of these blogs also make use of affiliate marketing and it works for them since they have a large audience.

I’m sure the internet marketing industry isn’t alone in this regard. See, I’m one of those Facebook users who have been on the service since February 2004, which is quite a long time considering Facebook was open to about three schools at the time that I signed up. I actually practice what I preach.

I had graduated college the previous year, so many of my classmates seemed to have “moved on&# from the social sites of my time (all of which have dissolved). Facebook started out small, allowing developers to test and roll out features slowly. In my case, I have particularly taken a liking to the News Feed. Thoughtful.

In fact, you can validate that by cross checking my user ID, 102991, which should indicate that I’ve been around for a real long time (since February 2004, to be more precise). The problem is that Twitter didn’t try to market itself as a private platform. and I felt the same way as you did.
