Teens Prefer Tumblr Over Facebook

Tumblr is more popular than Facebook among young social media users, according to a recent survey by Posterous co-founder Garry Tan. Out of an impressive field of social sites – including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat – Tumblr was the favorite social network for the two age groups surveyed, ages 13-18 (teens) and 19-25 (young adults).

Monopoly Launches ‘Save Your Token’ Campaign on Facebook

Monopoly is using Facebook and Twitter to get fans excited about a change in the classic board game. From now until February 5th, Monopoly fans can vote on Facebook to save their favorite token (one of the current tokens will be eliminated) and to choose a new one. Using the Save Your Token app on Monopoly’s Facebook page , fans can choose to save either the iron, racecar, thimble, shoe, top hat, battleship, Scottie dog or wheelbarrow from elimination.

A recent survey by Humanize looks at social media and leadership in organizations – in particular, how company leaders are leveraging social media for organizational results. Out of the 505 respondents (who skewed toward “more advanced” social media users), nearly two-thirds of the respondents (64%) reported that their leaders were involved in social media.

Social TV: Fans Tweet to Choose Hawaii Five-O Ending

Networks want viewers to watch television programs live (with commercials and all), and social media – particularly Twitter – offers some interesting opportunities to keep audiences engaged. CBS’ Hawaii Five-O is giving viewers a big incentive to live-tweet during the show’s next episode. According to Deadline , on Monday night the show will become the “first primetime drama to allow viewers to choose the ending of an episode in real time.” .
