TweetDeck is my favorite desktop/laptop tool for ease of layout, but Hootsuite is also great because it offers more advanced analytics and team-sharing tools for you. When you know you will be attending or speaking at a conference, set up a column in TweetDeck for its hashtag, then interact with attendees ahead of time. Use Your Head.
