Many people leave their laptops at home on 1-2 day trips already and just bring BlackBerries or iPhones (especially the tradeshow crowd unless you are a member of the press or blogosphere, and unless you have to give a presentation). For a week-long trip, it might be the laptop. And MiFi is soooo much better than USB dongle.
