Facebook provides a way for users/consumers to interact with the brand; the website is a controlled medium that provides marketing/advertising instead of user feedback. While I can't dispute that good websites are falling by the wayside because of Facebook, one can't ignore the fact Facebook is a great platform to induce interaction.
