Automated System Can Rewrite Outdated Sentences In Wikipedia. A system created by MIT researchers could be used to automatically update factual inconsistencies in Wikipedia articles, reducing time and effort spent by human editors who now do the task manually. There are so many updates constantly needed to Wikipedia articles.

MediaWiki - the platform that Wikipedia, amongst many other wikis, runs on - is probably the best of the free self-hosted options. People will accidentally delete entire pages of content, for example, and panic about what to do about it. Here’s a suggestion for a tenth point: Don’t try to re-create Wikipedia.

For example, if you go create an external facing idea portal but don’t do the hard work to drive process change internally with the functions that own the changes your users want - your idea engine could do you more harm than good. Had someone shown up and said “join the convo,&# I would have thrown them out. Go join that!
