Friendster (2002) Launched in 2002, Friendster was originally going to be a dating site that would help set up people with friends in common. Soon after, the term micro-blogging became widely used to describe both Twitter and Tumblr, noting the exchange of ‘small’ amounts of content. and really set the tone for future tweets.

A few nights ago, I went to the bloggers/Twitterers briefing for News.com new digital subscriptons for news hosted by Chief Executive Officer – News Digital Media and The Australian Richard Freudenstein and The Australian’s editor Clive Mathieson. This IS recognition that bloggers and twitterers are critical in the distribution of News.
