I personally logged over 200 hours of my time producing the event – 100% volunteer for this community service. I tripped across this article from 2001 (!) I would MUCH prefer to be paid appropriately and regularly for my content, and then use that money to travel independently, within my normal budget, unfettered.

Yes, this article is to stereotyping of the geek/nerd community, is politically incorrect about it, and written at the “fifth-grade-but-I-used-spellcheck&# level. I also have traveled all over the world, and intend to bring my girlfriend everywhere with me. I do know how to set up just about any piece of electronics I buy.
