In the meantime, I went for it the old fashioned way – by creating an XML file from scratch. Ok, not from scratch, but using the base elements from another RSS feed. The Custom Feed Results. Once your feed is complete, you can subscribe to it in Google Reader or another feed reader to see the results.

Using them in this one-way fashion is a close relative to broadcast media that only serve to communicate your message and not encourage conversation. This is expected there, but it’s not expected, and typically not welcome, in Social Media. The content is then disseminated, shared and discussed on other social networks.

Passports are accounts on other social networks and social media platforms. Twitter.com is a must if you have a social media audience. Facebook and/or MySpace are useful social networks where you can build outposts (see next list). It also connects you to other practitioners. All I can say is wow!
