After using both Plurk and Twitter pretty heavily, I’ve come to the conclusion that Plurk is best at its features for community-building, whereas Twitter succeeds more with its interface that bolsters information-sharing. I think plurk is more for networking and twitter more for tweeting news/events/links.

Abusing group invites. And if they don’t accept, don’t send the group request more than once by asking them to join via email, wall post, or Facebook message. In a specific case, I manage a few LinkedIn groups so my email address is far more visible on the site than I’d like. Many call this spam.
