It was originally part of a class wiki. Whereas an ePortfolio contains actual assets for the purpose of reflection, assessment or self-promotion, the PLE includes a broader repository that also includes links and commentary for all three purposes. Third-party modules may be added (eg KNotes weblog). This prototype is called PLEX.
