I still need to work on linking to other social networks and to openID. applications. I have been using Netvibes for more than a year now and similarly to the use case in the presentation I have tailored my start page to fulfill my needs in certain contexts (trips, translation tools, tech news, community and collaboration).

It can take almost any blog and feed it into a Twitter account, so you see new items when you’re on Twitter or using any of the Twitter applications. I thought I would put together a post for people to reference on everything you need to know about Twitter. Twitterfeed : Performs a useful service.

The differing viewpoints of PLEs are reflective of infancy of the concept, and the practical applications of the read/write web itself. Even with a more ideal integrative application, PLE will still be highly customized to the needs and preferences of the learner. Its the connections that make a PLE. Communication. Pageflakes.

One thing insitutions might offer are PLE patterns that describe the sorts of tools you might want to include in your PLE (general student PLE: an online wordprocessor, online storage, a social bookimarking service etc) and then exemplar tools within those tool/application classes. Get a Wordpress.com account for its OpenID benefits. The applications here work for both the individual or the organization. maybe we can create a list of web applications that people should use first? Get a Digg.com account for voting, as well.
