Foursquare – Like many folks, I have been anxious to see which location-based application would come out as the clear leader in the space. Are there applications that you could not live without? Going in to the conference, I was expecting big things from Gowalla and SCVNGR, unfortunately for them foursquare 3.0

I see this as a place to keep in touch with everyone and really dig the private groups feature. I love this application because it allows me to keep track of beers that I have consumed and also allows me to see what others think of the beers that they are currently tasting. Foursquare – I love this network. Untappd – I love beer.

I am also glad to say that Scott Stratten ‘s book Unmarketing came out this week and I am featured in it talking about Vistaprint’s social media strategy. What is interesting is developers gambling on excluding the medium for applications. While there are fewer applications for the platform, its growth can’t be ignored.

Earlier this month, Facebook dropped a bomb on the geolocation space by introducing deals via their Places mobile application. This move was a power play for the largest social network and a potential boon for advertisers looking to tap into the 100 million users of the Facebook mobile application.
