This is really useful if you put on a new event each month, as people who like and use RSS can be notified in this way. Badges make it easy for those who love you to easily tell their connections about our event.

We had 15 applicants and over 1000 votes. Ike did not have a blog, or a Twitter account, or know anything about Facebook or RSS, but they did tap into their network of friends, who used word-of-mouth marketing to tell a wider circle of friends, and take them to the winning position in the contest. About the Contest It was a great idea!
