As you may well know, I started blogging back in 2002. He then told me who he was, and we started having a conversation. When I started Digital Photography School I created avatars to represent the different types of people I’d be writing for. Sounds a bit like an avatar, doesn’t it?). Some of them worked.

Having said those things, I want to talk about these nine things that have helped me to accelerate the growth of my blogs over the years, things I wish I knew back in 2002 when I started out and I hope that that will help you in your journey as well. I started blogging in 2002. Gradually over time, I began to deepen my avatars.

For me, it all started in 2002 with an email from a friend. Okay, It was 2002 and I got this email and it had four words in it and a link. You leave a message and then everyone else leaves a voicemail message effectively back on your message and a conversation happens that way. It puts you into a conversation.
