I’m also checking email a lot less as I can see if there are any notifications right in front of me. This first page is my ’social’ area with two social network accounts and my two email accounts (one is below). I read these through FriendFeed where I’ve setup a private room for these feeds.

Turn Off Comment Notifications – If you’re new to blogging it can be exciting or useful to find out when your blog gets a new comment. I also nofollow links to pages that don’t need my link juice such as About or Contact and even things like my RSS feed. Again, I don’t get 100+ comments per post.
