So we use real money (which is itself virtual medium of exchange) to achieve frequent flyer points and loyalty card points (also virtual) which we then swap for Facebook Credit to buy virtual items in virtual worlds. These efforts amounted to $41,390 for the first quarter of 2010; the 2009 total was $207,878.
