Founded by four ex-Googlers, FriendFeed allows you to subscribe to your friends’ updates across 35 social networks and to stay up to date with the content they’re discovering and sharing across the web. And I do get an RSS feed from FriendFeed for content matching my search criteria. Google, Wikipedia and FriendFeed.

Track things like audience/community sentiment (positive/negative) if you want to map effort to results. account for social bookmarking. Take a second look at Plaxo. Build RSS outposts on Facebook. Add Flog Blog, and several other RSS tools. Remember that community and marketplace are two different things.
