Finding the perfect social media management tool can be a challenging task, with numerous options and features to consider.

As a (let’s face it) biased Buffer employee, I’ve tried my best to compare the two from a neutral point of view to help you make an informed decision.

In this article, we'll explore the key differences between Buffer and eClincher to assist you in finding the right solution for your social media management needs. So, let’s compare the two 👇

Seven Key Differences Between Buffer and eClincher

1. Free Plan Availability

Buffer offers a free plan that includes three channels and the ability to schedule up to 30 posts. However, eClincher does not have a free plan.

This makes Buffer an excellent choice for users who want to test the platform before committing to a paid plan.

2. High Starting Price

eClincher's starting plan costs $65 per month, whereas Buffer allows users to start for free and offers paid plans starting at just $6 per month. This makes Buffer a more budget-friendly option for beginners and small businesses who don’t have a large amount to spend.

3. Unlimited Users

eClincher does not offer unlimited users. Even on its most expensive Agency plan, which starts at $425 per month, only six users are available. This is fairly limiting for teams and agencies with multiple team members. Adding an additional user on eClincher costs $50 per month per user, meaning prices could quickly rise for growing teams.

In contrast, Buffer's equivalent Agency plan provides unlimited users helping teams of all sizes get the most out of the plan. And, talking about plans … 👇

4. More Affordable Plans

When comparing similar plans, Buffer consistently offers more cost-effective options. We put the two plans head to head to compare:

eClincher
Buffer
Basic Plan: 10 channels for $65 per month.
Essentials Plan: 10 channels for $50 per month.
Premier Plan: 20 channels for $175 per month.
Essentials Plan: 20 channels for $100 per month.
Agency Plan: 40 channels with six users for $425 per month.
Agency Plan: 40 channels, unlimited users for $300 per month.

Depending on the plan type eClincher is between 30 percent to 50 percent more expensive Buffer, that’s despite Buffer offering more functionality in many areas, including unlimited users, AI assistance, and … 👇

5. Mastodon Support

Unlike eClincher, Buffer allows users to connect and schedule posts on Mastodon, offering more flexibility in social media platform choices.

6. AI Assistance

Both Buffer and eClincher provide AI functionality, but Buffer offers AI assistance on all plans, including the free plan. eClincher only includes AI assistance on its Premier plan ($175 per month) and above, making Buffer a more accessible option for those in need of a bit of AI-driven assistance.

Both platforms offer link in bio tools, but Buffer provides this feature on all plans, including the free plan. eClincher, on the other hand, only includes this feature on its Premier plan ($175 per month) and above.

Buffer stands out from eClincher as a more user-friendly and cost-effective social media management solution.

With Buffer’s free plan, affordable paid options, and a range of features designed to cater to various needs, we think Buffer is the ideal choice for creators, entrepreneurs and small (but growing) businesses.

So, why not give Buffer a spin today?
