Video Quality on an iPhone

Here’s how I maximize video quality on an iPhone…

1. I have an iPhone 14 Pro, and I record using the rear-facing camera. I mirror my phone to my iPad so that I can center myself before recording.

2. I record in Cinematic mode, which adds that fuzziness to the background.

3. My lighting tends to be a bit bright, so I bring down the exposure. I use -1.0, but find what works for your lighting setup.

The impact of these adjustments may seem subtle, but I provided two versions to compare in this video. One shows what it looks like when I use my front-facing camera, using the normal Video mode, and without adjusting the exposure.

I feel like it washes me out, and I see that when I watch some of my old videos.

The bottom line is that you don’t need to spend a bunch of money on a camera. I don’t have a DSLR or anything crazy. It’s just my iPhone.

Another important element is the lighting, and I’ll cover exactly what I do in a separate video.
