Should You Listen to Meta Ad Reps?

Well, it depends…

First, do they know what they’re talking about? In some cases, you will know more than your rep. You absolutely can get bad advice from them. Don’t waste your time with a clueless rep.

Second, know that they have their own goals. They are essentially sales reps. They want you to spend more money on ads. Just understand that.

Third, be skeptical of inside info. We’ve seen this multiple times related to the pixel. Reps were sharing specific dates about when the pixel was going away. No official documentation existed on this, just rumors that they swore by. Then that date came and went and the pixel was still there.

When it comes to inside info, it’s interesting to know, but I will always value official, public documentation over what some random rep says. If there’s nothing published from official sources, I take it with a grain of salt.

I actually haven’t taken a rep’s call in years. It’s generally been a waste of my time. So I know I’m getting those weekly emails and voicemails.

But I know they can be helpful in the right situations.

How about you? Do you talk to an ad rep?
