Content resets every day and UGC (User generated content) is the clear winner. The short definition of a content strategist, is essentially the person who is charged with keeping the company interesting. Of course the longer definition has to do with content calendars and working with agencies and teams and departments and writers and designers. The reality is that yesterday’s content is gone, today’s will last until about 9 pm tonight and tomorrow is a new day.

but my concern is that as we become more desensitized to and inundated with UGC, either our desire for better quality will increase-which would be OK, or our expectations for more outrageous, salacious content will need to be met, or we will feel the pressure of sacrificing quality over sensationalism. When I tweeted about this my tweet essentially said that my faith in the coolness and greatness of UGC has been restored. Ok so the dust settles on some crazy posts that were rattling in my head this week and then poof, you have to wake up and keep going. Yesterday consisted of a killer pitch for a very large SEO project in which the client said afterward that they had never received such a detailed proposal before, and yet… that’s the way all of my proposals are.
