While the YouTube website was working, videos were stuck on a black screen with a white loading circle.
Users flocked to Twitter Wednesday night to voice their frustrations at the outage, resulting in the trending hashtag #YouTubeDOWN and plenty of jokes about the situation.
In a tweet, YouTube said, ...And we’re back—we’re so sorry for the interruption. This is fixed across all devices & YouTube services, thanks for being patient with us.”
The company did not provide details about what caused the outage.
