It becomes glaringly obvious, once you’ve received a few of these, that someone is using some cut and paste template or software that is sending one blanket email to thousands of people on a list while just replacing the name and website information. PostRank – This nifty plugin rates your posts on engagement, sharing and some other variables and was recently acquired by Google. It keeps everything in a nice clean template and is updated when a new player comes to the space. It has also increased the time spent on the site.

To speak to both of those: Because of the way my blog template is structured, its difficult to get the photo credit right under the photo. In some templates, it shows up as extra-large quotation marks. So I get it as close as I can, unless the post has only one image, in which case I usually put it at the end of the post.

It does require a different type of coding skill (if you are used to just modifying templates with PHP, you will also have to learn the hooks system). Another service to look into in conjunction with Google Analytics is PostRank Analytics ( https://analytics.postrank.com/ ). Another way to see what readers like is through analytics.
