Ask and AOL probably think the opposite as their share of the search market gradually diminishes. Search is definitely not dead, and for most businesses, is still one of their major sources of traffic. At times I think the search v social argument is misguided.

In many cases, you just see one ad, one promoted tweet per keyword per search. Think about how many Google searches there are, how many pages deep there are. It’s on the go, it’s on mobile devices, and people typically aren’t scrolling through pages and pages of search results.
