There are a number of great networks specifically built for bloggers for the purpose of bookmarking, forums, groups, and networks. Some that I am particularly fond of are Blog Engage (blogger’s social bookmarking site), Blogger Den (the alternative to Digg for bloggers), and BloggerLuv. Guest Blogging. Forum Signatures.

Avoid posting links on random or affiliated websites rather nofollow the link or remove them. Some of the other common sources of spammy links are Forum Profiles, Blog comments, Social bookmarks and paid links. Site wide links should be carefully monitored. Web portals do a commendable work in spotting site wide links.

Links can do this regardless of whether or not they contain the “nofollow” attribute, contain redirects, come from a site with a high PageRank , and so on.
