Windows 10 is the second latest version of Windows. To change your PC name in Windows 10, given below are the shortest and quickest approaches to change the PC name.

STEP 1: Select the start button (4 flagged windows key).

STEP 2:  Click “Settings” and then go to “Systems”.

STEP 3:  Under the “System” tab, click “About”.

STEP 4: Now select the “Rename PC” button in the right column under PC.

STEP 5: Enter a new name and then hit the “Next” button.

STEP 6: Select Restart now or Restart later.

How to Change Computer Name in Windows 8.1

STEP 1: To change your PC’s name, move your mouse to the lower right corner to bring up the Charms bar.
STEP 2: Click “Settings” and then “Change PC settings”.
STEP 3:  In the left column select “PC and devices” and then click “PC info”.
STEP 4:  To the right, you can see your PC’s current name. Below that click the “Rename” button.
STEP 5: Now type the name you want to use for your PC using only letters, numbers, and hyphens.
STEP 6:  When you finish click “Save” and then click “Restart now” to restart your computer. When your computer comes back up your PC name will be changed.

How to Change Computer Name in Windows Older Version (Windows 7 & Vista, XP,2000)

If you are from an old school and still prefer the older version of Windows computer as compared to the new one then don’t worry, here we are including the correct procedure for changing the computer’s name in an older version of Windows computer (such as Windows 7 and Vista).

To change the PC’s name in Windows 7 and Vista operating systems, follow the below set of instructions.

STEP 1:  Click the “Start” button.
STEP 2:  Go to the “computer” and right-click with your mouse.
STEP 3: Now go to “Properties” and then click “Advanced system settings” on the left panel.

Note: For Windows XP, You would need to go up to “Properties”, then you would need 
to click on the “Computer Name” tab and then the “Change” button, and then 
under “Computer name” delete the old computer name and type the new name. 
Click “OK” two times and then click on “Yes” to restart your computer.

STEP 4: Once you click the “Advance system settings”, a small system window will appear in front of you. Now click “Computer Name” available under the system window.
STEP 5:  To rename the computer click the “Change” button and change your computer name.
STEP 6: Once you rename your Windows 7 or vista computer, click “OK” and restart your computer to see your computer’s name.

Note: The other method to rename your computer in Windows 7 or vista is through the control panel. To do click the “Start button” and click on “Control panel”. Under the control panel double click “System” and within the System on the left click on “Advance system settings.” Rest follow STEP 5, and 6 discussed above in order to rename computer in Windows 7 and Vista.
