Hello, my name is Laurel Papworth and I want to talk about a hybrid nightclub that’s opening in Dubai, where you go to a physical nightclub, but there’s a lot of web3 Metaverse type of technology involved in the nightclub. So I have a real interest in seeing the traversibility between reality and virtual that the Metaverse brings. So let’s have a look and see what’s involved with this Dubai venue called Vision. So Vision is opening up in H Hotel, Dubai, and it has access to cryptocurrency, exchange for menu items and NFTs. So you’ll be able to buy food and drink with the coins and purchase NFTs at the club. [00:00:28.470]

Typically when I’ve seen this done before of hybrid clubs, physical, real life clubs and digital assets, you’ll see that to get your ticket, you’ll need to buy an entry ticket with crypto and then you’ll get lucky spots and lucky seats, and then NFTs will be awarded on the night and different things are done. So it’s a very engaging gamification of a loyalty programme, which at the end of the day is gamification anyway, but you get the general idea it’s mashing up cryptocurrency and NFTs with food and drink at a real life venue. The CEO of Vision and the CEO of WanTing Catering and Entertainment Group put out a joint statement and said that they wanted to provide a “celestial vision” to the visitors to the nightclub. So it sounds like fun. It sounds like if the people that go to nightclubs are bored of the same old, same old, there’s a lot of opportunities to provide games and fun and additional interest points, touch points, I think they’re called in the club business. Additional touch points to bring them into the club and retain them in the club and so on and so forth. So let’s see how that one works out. At the venue they’re going to provide a light and sound experience, turning their evenings into “a stellar auditory and visual haven”, whatever that means in nightclub spaces. [00:01:50.250]

Vision Club Dubai has an Instagram account, @visionClubDubai, so you can follow them for more information on how they’re going to integrate digital virtual augmented with reality. When I looked at the Instagram account, looks really fun. [00:02:09.960]
