As part of my work with the PRCA’s Digital Steering Committee, I’m part of a consultation process that is trying to create a set of guidelines for the PR industry to help it better understand and interact with Wikipedia. The consultation process is on a Wiki on the Wikimedia site and the initial phase will end this Sunday.

If you don’t have a designer to work with, look at free stock sites like Wikimedia Commons or Unsplash. Make sure you know guidelines before you check any boxes so you are in line with the site’s SEO and taxonomy best practices. The amount of images within a piece depend on the length, but they are always a given.

A minimum width is 600 pixels, things look bad outside of these guidelines. Pinteret board image from Wikimedia Commons. I’m going to make them point form so that you can quickly refer back to them when you need to: Your optimal image ratio is 2:3 or 1:3.5.
