Google is personalizing search results by including more Google+ profiles, business pages, posts, and Google+ and Picasa photos in a significant new initiative called Search plus Your World. Say, for example, someone searching for Sri Lanka will be served relevant holiday photos posted by anyone in the user’s Google+ circles.

Find photos from Flickr or Picasa — be sure to use Creative Commons photos — or buy royalty-free stock photography, and put them in your blog posts for added impact. For example, a basic $150 Snowball mic can produce some better-than-average sound quality. And not, say, photos of small animals pretending they’re people.

In the very first release, Plus has a killer integration with Picasa (Google’s photo service), and its live video chat feature (called Hangout) could very easily become a Skype killer. Google Knol, for example. Google Buzz. To some extent Google Wave. None of them got even Twitter-level traction, much less Facebook. Blogger.
