Canadian government spikes the press release

Sherrilynne Starkie

Gone forever are those dense blocks of text, overly long headlines and all that complex jargon. Instead, Canadian government communicators are using a more digital-friendly format that’s shorter, snappier and is designed for use in social channels.

Wake Up – Why It’s Now About the Media not the Social

Convince & Convert

'Image from Bigstock.com. The tools and technologies that have aided and abated the social era have grown up and forsaken us. The big social players have all rolled out features and functions that position them squarely as media platforms that maintain comments functionality, rather than their original roles as social networks. Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter aren’t the new MySpace, they are the new ABC, NBC and CBS ( tweet this ).

What a 23 Percent Bounce Rate Means

Ari Herzog

'Bounce rate is the percentage of people who visit your website and leave without clicking other pages on your website. In the fall of 2012, my bounce rate was 82% and, in the fall of 2013, it dropped to 15% — dropping over 60% in a year ! I grant you that a low bounce rate might be negative. This is applicable if you have a form that you want people to fill out, or a product that someone should buy, or some other conversion you want your web visitor to do — on the same page.

Get Your Site on Google’s Front Page Search

'Have you received an email (usually an unsolicited email) from someone offering to get your site on Google’s front page?
