Get a facebook page and a twitter address, and then use an app called “Tweetdeck&# – this enables you to monitor “tweets&# and facebook comments. I agree with you about TweetDeck. Maria April 6, 2010 at 2:01 pm I recommend Hootsuite over Tweetdeck. I use it and love it. I put global objectives across the top.

Also, use social monitoring tools like TweetDeck , to see if somebody mentions your blog or retweets your posts. If they do, subscribe to their RSS feeds via GoogleReader. If you see that a certain site is sending a lot of RSS subscribers, you can work to get more traffic from that source. You can see how many people are subscribing to your RSS feed and from which sources, and if you use the new Google Analytics integration, you can see how many clicks each individual post is getting from feed readers.

Twitter Tweetdeck I use Tweetdeck for serious twitter sessions. It doesn’t have the advanced functionality of Tweetdeck (such as cross-posting to Facebook), but it’s so easy-to-use that it’s my favorite Twitter app. Note that nearly 40% of all subscribers to this blog are via email, not RSS.

The Twitter integration in Netvibes actually includes the very same functionality of Tweetdeck. In fact, it’s so good that I have now uninstalled Tweetdeck from my Mac as this online version has some features even Tweetdeck was missing. I’ll definitely try this out and let you know how it works.

My blog is the almost the same as yours in age, it has 2x the number of visitors here but I’ve only got around 400+ RSS subscribers. Is the value of a blog reader worth more than an RSS reader? RSS readers are far more valuable than a regular reader when it comes to blogging, in my experience. from Parka). from Onibalusi ).

You will definitely find more people to follow. In TweetDeck , a 3rd-party application that I think is a must for using and managing Twitter, ReTweeting is very easy. Tweetdeck and the like may still be the way forward – I’m increasingly using lists in Hootsuite to segment tweeters – and the content they tweet – that I really want to keep an eye on. I definitely agree about the tiresome advertising of someone’s “Daily&# now being out. back to the top.

And I don’t even do this manually; the process is automated thanks to RSS feeds. Although the growth of this blog hasn’t directly correlated with more comments and tweets, it’s definitely had a large effect. I tweet all of my own blog posts (automatically) and I definitely recommend it. That’s it.

Updating Facebook from third parties like Tweetdeck? I think twitter is more of a heavily curated rss reader/feeder rather than a portal, and I suspect that presenting twitter to new users as more of a friendly way to use rss that as a way to push conversation with strangers would help quite a bit.
